Construction Has Started on the Stanton Build

Construction has started on Habitat's latest project - building a home with partner family Jay & Michelle Perez-Darling and their children, Kayla, Samantha, Dillon and Isabella. The build site is located at 4138 East Shore Drive just west of Stanton in the Lake Stanton subdivision, the lot was generously donated to Habitat earlier this year.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Saturday, June 5th. Some of Habitat's construction volunteers and board members along with Jay and Michelle's support team helped the family celebrate. Jay made the following comment recently "I think it is now finally sinking in that we will have a home before Christmas."

Your help is needed - we are looking for local families, churches or groups to provide lunch for our volunteers - if you think you can help with this please call Mo at the Habitat office - 616-754-5772.

If you would like to volunteer  to build just stop by either the site or the Habitat office and fill out a volunteer/liability form.

Work days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
